Say What?!

We have covered some of the most lyrical emcees in Hip Hop to date, including Mos Def (Yasin Bey), MF DOOM, Nas, Andre 3000 and more. Now we cover some of the most questionable rhymes of our time. The rhymes that make us say, “Say What?!?!”

First off, when Biggie said…. “You look so good I would…”

SAY WHAT?!?!

Oh no! How wild style is that? We didn’t even expect that verse to come out.

Here is a list of the notable mentions. These cats are always saying some off the wall stuff. Especially when we least expect it.

1. Tyler the Creator
2. Kanye West
3. Action Bronson
4. 2 Chainz
5. Mac Miller
6. School Boy Q
7. Chance the Rapper

If you have any other artists that come to mind, drop us a line in the comments!

Who Is Jose James?

Image

Musician, Singer, Songwriter, Magician.

Jose James is so smooth that we are officially changing the word SMOOTH to Jose James.

(Example Sentence; Man, this wine is soooo Jose James)

Please Proceed.

Jose James is what you are missing out on if you have ever said you were tired of hearing the same ole, same ole. With such a rich voice, you won’t regret putting this man’s music on repeat. And fellas, it wouldn’t hurt to find out what he is talking about either. James’ word play is amazing, and the way he maneuvers through each song plays with the acoustic value of the music.

He has dropped his latest album, “No Beginning  No End” within the last month, and it describes the album best. This album’s continuity is amazing, with distinct live instrumentation and sounds  that can only be produced in the atmosphere of Soul.

Out of 5 stars, he receives 5 (A great listen from start to finish!)

Jose James’ sound (or should we say his approach reminds us most like) D’Angelo.

Be sure you check out the man, and the music!

Rating (out of 5): 4.25
Brief Description: After releasing numerous mixtapes and features, the long awaited debut album of Kendrick Lamar has arrived just on time. Singles include “Swimming Pools” and “Poetic Justice” featuring Drake.
Pros:
Overall approach of album
Lyricism
Style

Cons
Theme of album lost after first few tracks
Fluitity of album
The wrap up:
Amazing album. From start to finish. I was hesitant on if Kendrick would be able to live up to the anticipation and hype that was created around this effort, but he definitely delivered. Although there were a few tracks I had to let grow on me, the overall effort was a great one. I really think he took us to Compton, through the streets of Los Angeles and opened up his mind and world to the public. You can definitely hear his experiences through his word choice and delivery. Only downfall of the album was the placement of his tracks. I would have liked to see certain songs preceed others, but I can’t bicker too  much about that.
Favorite tracks off the album were:
Black Boy Fly
The Recipe feat Dr. Dre
Bitch, Dant Kill My Vibe
Money Trees
Poetic Justice feat Drake
Good Kid
M.A.A.D City

Hell… The whole thing.
Good effort Kendrick. Can’t wait for the next project.
